Silks Handstands

In this workshop, get your handstand airborne! Starting with a crash course in alignment, we will look at multiple ways to support a handstand in the silks as well as exits from handstand into hand locks and belays.

Time: 1.5 or 2 hours

Technical requirements: At least 15 ft of height, crash mats, at least 1 silk per 3 participants

Prerequisites: Participants should be capable of holding a 30s handstand against a wall and able to invert on silks in the air.

Advanced Cerceau

Also known as aerial hoop or lyra. Twisting and turning sequences, strength moves, fast spins! The tricks that are “in fashion” are different in every city, and this workshop brings you vocabulary from all over the world.

Time: 1.5 or 2 hours

Technical requirements: At least 15 ft of height, crash mats, at least 1 apparatus per 3 participants, preference for single point.

Prerequisites: Participants should be able to invert with straight legs, perform at least one pull-up, and have a year of experience on an aerial apparatus

Hand balancing

This workshop offers a rigorous and technical set of exercises for handstand alignment. It will accommodate a beginner looking for methology to get started on handstands, or a veteran looking for new repertoire and concepts. It may also be offered as separate beginner/advanced workshops.

Time: 1.5 hours

Technical requirements: Wall space, flat hard flooring, crash mats.

Rapid Routine Development

In a creative rut? Create a routine in 3 hours. Beginning with concept generation, this workshop pressure cooks you through a series of exercises to accumulate movement vocabulary, develop a storyline, and polish your work.

Time: 2 or 3 hours (preference 3)

Technical requirements: One piece of equipment or discipline available for each participant.

Prerequisites: Participants should have the appropriate experience with their chosen discipline to be comfortable exploring their movement and existing vocabulary.
